Introduction
This training course provides the key knowledge required to understand the foreign exchange market and its importance within the international financial environment.
The foreign exchange market is at the heart of the international financial system, facilitating international trade, investments and capital flows worldwide. In an environment characterised by the globalisation of economies and currency volatility, understanding the challenges and mechanisms of the foreign exchange market has become essential for finance professionals.
Objectives
By the end of the course, we will be able to:
- Discover and understand how the world’s largest financial market operates, with more than USD 5 trillion traded daily.
- Understand future developments and their potential implications.
- Develop an understanding of the characteristics of the various foreign exchange transactions, ranging from cash/banknote exchange to Non-Deliverable Forwards (NDFs).
After reviewing the fundamentals and origins of foreign exchange transactions, the specific terminology, as well as the rules and market conventions, this one-day training course will introduce participants, through practical exercises, to the following:
