This training introduces logistics professionals to the core principles of data management in operations. Through real-world logistics examples, participants explore how data is captured, structured and used in performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
Objectives
Understand where logistics data comes from (WMS/TMS/ERP, scanning points, operational systems, etc. ) and how it flows through operations
Recognise common data quality issues (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency, uniqueness) and how to detect them
Read, calculate, and interpret operational KPIs (e.g., OTIF/OTD, pick productivity, inventory accuracy, dock-to-stock, dwell time)
Link KPIs to root-cause analysis and daily/weekly performance routines
Create a basic KPI catalogue and data dictionary to standardize definitions across teams
Establish pragmatic governance (roles, owners, checks) and a simple improvement loop (PDCA) for data
